Joseph is here again with two short poems that talk about the “Truth of the mind” but there is more in them than first meets the eye… Joseph
NEVER SILENT IS THE MIND
THOUGHT UPON THOUGHT OF EVERY KIND
SOME TO DRIVE YOU CRACKERS
SOME TO DRIVE YOU MAD
SOME TO MAKE YOU HAPPY OR SAD
SOME TO MAKE YOU GOOD OR BAD
THOUGHT UPON THOUGHT OF EVERY KIND
NEVER SILENT IS THE MIND
EVEN WHEN YOU DIE AND RETURN TO THE SKY
YOUR THOUGHTS GO WITH YOU
STUCK TO YOU LIKE GLUE
SO TELL ME, WHAT ARE YOU TO DO
WILL YOUR THOUGHTS SEE YOU THOUGH
OR WILL THEY DROP YOU IN IT
FOR YOU HAVE NO COMPREHENSION
WHAT YOUR THOUGHTS DO TO YOU
OR TO OTHERS, FOR NEVER SILENT IS THE MIND
THOUGHT UPON THOUGHT OF EVERY KIND
AND NOW I HAVE A “THOUGHT” TO SAY
MAYBE YOU WILL ALL CHANGE, ONE DAY
**********
SILENT ARE OUR THOUGHTS TO OTHERS
LEAST WE HIDE THEM FROM OUR OWN UNDERSTANDING
FOR MOST WOULD BE UNTHINKABLE
FELT ARE OUR FEELINGS OF OTHERS
LEAST WE HIDE THEM FROM OUR OWN SENSES
FOR MANY COULD BE UNBEARABLE
UNKNOWN ARE OUR MOTIVES TO OTHERS
LEAST WE HIDE THEM FROM OUR OWN KNOWING
FOR MANY WOULD BE UNDESIRABLE
