A Spiritual Guide To Learn How To Cope With Grief

At some point in our lives, it’s inevitable that we will have to mourn the death of a family member or close friend. With over 500,000 deaths in the UK every year, there are millions who are currently experiencing grief, and it can be difficult to cope with the loss of a loved one. While grieving is a part of life, it should be remembered that feelings of hopelessness, loneliness, and depression can lead to illness as these negative emotions hinder the flow of life energy to our vital organs. It is crucial to learn to cope with grief in healthy and spiritual ways for a better quality of life and to start one’s journey towards complete healing.

The effects of grief

When you’re grieving, the negative emotions cause imbalances in your chakras which can affect your health. Grief can cause you to have an irregular heartbeat, especially if you’re younger than 60 or if your loved one died unexpectedly. Your immunity may also be weakened which leaves you vulnerable to illness. Prolonged grief can also cause mental distress such as anxiety and depression. You may also find that you’re experiencing symptoms similar to trauma such as a racing heart, churning stomach, being hypersensitive to noise, or having nightmares. While there’s nothing wrong in mourning your loved one, it would benefit your mind, body, and spirit to learn to cope with grief in healthy ways. Here are a few ways to do it.

Give yourself ample time to grieve

Work commitments and the like have caused a majority of Brits to have a lack of time to grieve. While your financial responsibilities may be a valid cause for rushing off to work three days after the funeral, keep in mind that two to three days of leave may not be enough time for you to come to terms with what happened. Giving yourself ample time to grieve, pray, and remember your loved one is the first thing you need to start the healing process.

Celebrate your loved one’s life

The death of a loved one can be devastating, but you can heal your spirit by celebrating the life of your departed family member or friend. Gather a few friends and relatives and remember the life of the deceased by singing favourite songs and exchanging stories about your loved one. You can also serve a few favourite foods. By remembering the way he or she lived, you can cope with grief in a healthy way.

Energy healing

When you feel an overflow of grief and sadness, see if you can have a licensed spiritual healer perform energy healing on you. The energy from the healer can unblock and renew cells that have been damaged by grief or distress. By filling you up with light and love, the healer helps you emerge from the dark depths of despair to promote healing.

Grieving is a part of life, but it doesn’t have to diminish your spirit. By giving yourself enough time to mourn, celebrating your departed loved one’s life, and through energy healing, you can renew and restore your broken heart and spirit.
